We believe that all children learn at their own pace, and have their own voice. The activities the children participate in are developmentally appropriate for each level of learning. We practice a Nature based curriculum in a safe low pressure environment. Children are treated with respect. MOST IMPORTANTLY we allow and encourage each child to be an INDIVIDUAL!
Our goal is to provide a positive, healthy, safe, environment for children of alternative beliefs and or lifestyles, so they may have a safe and secular environment with teachers that respect them. We encourage creativity in everything our students do, as well as in ourselves. We provide room to grow, learn and explore.
As stated in our philosophy we follow a Nature Based path. We also like to combine philosophies from, Montessori, Reggio & Waldorf to ensure the children an artistic, well-rounded education. Our curriculum, or lack of and classroom environment were designed with Maria Montessoris' theory that “Learning is acquired not by listening to words but by experiences.” and, Loris Malaguzzi's, "No Way, The hundred is there." We strive to have a calm flowing environment where younger children are free to move through the classroom and learn off of the older children. Our nature based path includes teaching children about their environment both inside and out. From the moment a child shows an interest in nature they are introduced to gardening, animal care taking, and general Eco-friendly living. We feel that you are never too young to care for the earth.
Our School is located in Northern California. We run year-round 6 weeks on 2 weeks off, from January to December.
For the safety of our families we do not post our schools personal information online.
